Sweden will, from June 2025, allow microbreweries to sell drinks on-site to visitors. This is a relaxation of the strict rules on alcohol sales which have been in place since 1955.
All details on how this rule should be implemented are not finalized yet. But it looks like visitors must be on a paid tour and must listen to what the law described as a lecture "with real content" about the drink before purchasing, This lecture need to incorporate facts about the negative effects of alcohol consumption.
Smedsbo Slott will of course try this new sales route! Our wares will be on offer to visitors at our tastings, and during the three days of Slånkvicku when we are open to the public.
Book a beer tasting at Smedsbo Slott Brewery with an option to stay overnight. If you're a larger group, our brewer Pär Windahl will be happy to arrange a beer tasting at your place. Ask us for an offer.
Smedsbo Slott have done collaborations in Sweden – Poppels, Vreta KLoster – as well as internationally, with Wylam Brewery in Newcastle, the Yardley Brothers in Hong Kong, Pühaste in Estland and more
Smedsbo Slott beers are all brewed in a traditional artisanal way to allow the complex flavours to develop. Leaning on traditional brewing, the tastes and styles are creatively built by tirelessly refining each recipe by brewer and beer judge Pär Windahl.
All beers from Smedsbo Slott are made in limited batch editions, nurtured to be enjoyed immediately on release but also well suited for cellaring. To age with grace, these beers are high in alcohol with rich tastes that should be savoured slowly.
